US reasserts Pakistan’s strategic alliance

WASHINGTON: During a State Department briefing, the United States talked about its relationship with Pakistan. Spokesperson Ned Price, while addressing a press conference, commented on the topic after a journalist asked about Rahul Gandhi’s statement where he blamed the BJP government for the Pak-China bond.

The spokesperson briefed that Washington had never pushed any country to make a choice between China and the US. He refused to comment on Rahul Gandhi’s statement and said that Pakistan was a strategic partner with whom the US had an important relationship.

He further added that countries with relations with the US had access to valuable advantages, which they didn’t find with China.

Historically, Pakistan has been a close partner with the US which dates back to the Cold War era. During the war against the Soviets, Pakistan played an integral role and helped the US.
