UNSC should take notice of India’s terrorism in occupied Kashmir, Pakistan

During the Security Council debate at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the Pakistani ambassador Munir Akram highlighted the terrorist activities by India. Pakistan asked the UNSC to take notice of the bloodshed carried out by India in Kashmir.

Last year, a well-researched report was presented by Pakistan in which India’s terrorist activities in Pakistan and Kashmir were discussed. 3,432 cases and audio/video evidence were part of the report. India responded that Kashmir was an inalienable part of their country and Pakistan should evacuate Azad Kashmir as the land also belonged to India.

Pakistan rejected India’s claims and pointed out the terrorist activities by India in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Secretary-General UN Antonio Guterres said that the UN identified Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory. He added that the discord had carried for over 70 years and it should be resolved under the UN resolutions.
