Traffic plan for March 23 released by Islamabad traffic police

ISLAMABAD: With the March 23 parade coming up next week, the police have finalised the traffic plan to provide convenience to the public. On March 16, 18, 20 and 23, all heavy vehicles cannot enter the federal capital. The ban will be applicable from 12am to 2pm. Police have also released the route plan for light vehicles.

Light vehicles travelling from Lahore to Rawalpindi can use Rawat T-Cross which will divert them to Saddar Road, Rawalpindi. Motorway and Peshawar GT Road will also be accessible from Rawat T-Cross. To access the sectors G & F and Srinagar Highway from the old airport: light traffic can use Korang Road, Jinnah Road, Park Road, Taramri Chowk (Captain Naeem Tufail Shaheed Chowk), Lehtrar Road, and Khanna Bridge.

People travelling to Lahore and Rawalpindi airport from Srinagar Highway can use Rawal Road, Murree Road, and 9th Avenue. To head towards Lahore, vehicles will turn right from the Koral flyover. Light vehicles coming from the motorway; willing to travel Murree, Bhara Kahu, and Aabpara would utilise Srinagar Highway.

On March 16, 18, 20 and 23, from 5am to 2pm, the IJP Road, Faisal Avenue, Murree Road, and Islamabad Expressway will be non-accessible to all types of vehicles. On March 17, 19, 21 and 23, from 5am to 2pm, the pathway to Faizabad from Rawal Dam Chowk will be closed for traffic.
