Temperature in Karachi will drop between 8 to 10 degrees, forecasts Met Department

With the whole country being under the influence of bone-chilling winter, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that the temperature of Karachi will drop between 8 to 10 degrees. Chief Metrologist Dr Sardar Sarfaraz said that cold and dry winds have started to blow from the northern side of the city, which has intensified the cold.

The increasingly cold weather will increase the difficulties for those living on the streets. According to the Met department, the intensity of cold is likely to increase in Karachi from Wednesday, January 4, as the temperature was recorded at 11 degrees, while the winds are blowing at a speed of 12 kilometres per hour.

Sardar Sarfaraz said that the cold wave might stay in the metropolitan till January 7, but there is no possibility of rain in Karachi till next month.

Different parts of the country are also facing extremely cold weather. The temperature in Islamabad dropped to 1°C, while in Quetta it reached 5°C and in Peshawar to 0°C. Similarly, in Astor, the temperature scale showed -11°C, Murree faced cold weather of -1°C and Srinagar -4°C.
