Light rain and snowfall forecasted in most areas of Pakistan, temperature dropped to 12°C in Karachi

The Met Department has forecasted that the weather will remain partly cloudy in Islamabad, and light rain & light snow will be expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Bajaur. Faisalabad, Jhelum, Lahore, Mangala, Hafizabad, Joharabad, Sialkot, and Narowal will experience fog during the night and morning.

The forecast added that the weather in most districts of Balochistan and Sindh would remain cold & dry. The intensity of cold has also increased in Karachi, and visibility was reduced to 4 km due to light fog. A minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius was recorded in the city. According to Met Office, the intensity of cold will increase in Karachi.

Due to heavy fog in various areas of Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several motorways were closed. Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway, from Lahore to Sheikhupura and Lahore Abdul Hakeem Motorway from Faizpur to Sea remained closed for traffic. Visibility has also been affected on the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway and Multan-Sukkur Motorway because of fog. The Motorway Police has instructed the citizens not to travel unnecessarily and to drive carefully.
