Sony Would Prepare Wireless Earbuds For The PS5

According to sources at Insider Gaming, Sony is working on wireless Earbuds for the PlayStation 5 (PS5). These headphones, currently called Project Nomad, have a 5 hour charge and come with a charging case. That can be powered by a USB-C cable via the PS5.

In addition to this, the Japanese firm would work on a new audio headset whose name is Voyager. This helmet should be similar to the Inzone H7 helmet.

In its 2023 financial year (between April 2023 and March 2024), Sony will launch wireless headphones dedicated to the PlayStation 5 and a new Bluetooth headset designed for its home console. This is what Insider Gaming tells us this week , which suggests that these two peripherals are currently in development.

Regarding the earbuds anticipated for the PS5, the latter would respond internally to the code name “ Project Nomad ” and would benefit from an autonomy close to five hours. This is not necessarily good news since the autonomy offered by the WF-1000XM3 headphones , also marketed by Sony, is around 6 to 8 hours on battery power.

PS5 Pro would arrive in April 2023 with liquid cooling

Of course Sony PS5 Earbuds will have a USB-C charging box would be there to reinforce this endurance that could be improved a priori. This box could then be recharged, for example, by connecting it to the PS5, and this method would also be used for updates, we read.

As mentioned above, Sony would also have a new wireless headset in the pipeline for its console: code name “ Voyager”. This device should partly take over the specifications and positioning of the Inzone H7 headset , but it is unknown what its exact price placement will be.

Anyway, it is interesting to note that the presumed launch of these two accessories would intervene more or less on the same niche as the PlayStation 5 with detachable drive mentioned by the rumor in recent months. The latter should hit the market in September 2023 according to Insider Gaming

Finally, note that Sony will not be the first to launch wireless headphones dedicated to gaming. Before him, Razer for example engaged in the exercise with its Hammerhead headphones , compatible with both the PS5 and the Xbox Series S | X.
