LARKANA: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that Sindh was ready to hold the local government elections in February, March and the same had been told to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He was speaking to the media here on Sunday.

Mr Shah was in Larkana to offer Fateha at the grave of the assassinated former prime minister Benazir Bhutto at her 14th death anniversary. Mr Shah sounded confident and said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would form the next government in the province because the leadership had done everything to serve the people of Sindh.

Referring to the absence of PPP co-chairman and former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Mr Shah said that the latter’s poor health prevented him from travelling to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. He also talked about the possibility of forming a government in coalition but was quick to add that the previous coalition experience had left a bad taste in the party leadership’s mouth.
