Sindh lifts ban on registration of private schools

The caretaker government of Sindh has announced lifting the ban on private educational institutions registration. The provincial government has also introduced a new set of rules with the aim to streamline the education sector and private schools in Sindh.

Earlier, the interim chief minister carried out a series of meetings that focused on education policies & structural improvements in educational institutions across Sindh. The official notification was issued by the Directorate of Inspection & Registration of Private Institutions. The notification followed the directives given by the school education & literacy department and stated key criteria for private school registration.

The Sindh School Education & Literacy Department also issued a separate notification that has granted greater authority to special secretary (schools). With the help of these authorities, the secretary can handle various cases related to primary & secondary schools, including employee retirements, leaves, and inter-departmental transfers.
