KARACHI: After an in-depth discussion between Education Minister Sindh Syed Sardar Ali Shah and representatives of the transgender community, the Sindh leadership has decided to introduce a transgender education policy.
Leaders of trans community, including Shahzadi Rai, Zehrish Khanzadi, Bindia Rana and Moorat Interactive Society, met with the education minister. The Sindh education department announced the policy under which transgenders would be able to continue education, who previously were unable to complete their education. The community would also get a chance to apply for teaching jobs.
The policy also aims to add topics about transgenders in the general curriculum to raise awareness about the community.
