After one week without ministers, PM Shehbaz set to unveil federal cabinet today

ISLAMABAD: A list of 25 members for the federal cabinet was finally completed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday. An official announcement is expected to be made today.

According to sources and media reports, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would keep 14 ministries, and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) would take over 11 portfolios. Speculations suggest that PML-N would head ministries including communication, planning, energy, information, railways, law & justice, interior, finance, and defence.

Sources from PPP claimed that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would take up the foreign ministry. Earlier the PPP was divided over the point of Bilawal taking up the position.

Possible ministers from PML-N and PPP are Miftah Ismail, Bilawal Bhutto, Shazia Marri, Hina Rabbani Khar, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Rana Tanvir, Rana Sanaullah, Ahsan Iqbal, Zahid Hamid, Khawaja Asif, and Marriyum Aurangzeb.

PPP also hopes that Yousaf Raza Gillani will fill the position of Senate Chairman. MQM-P and PPP would also discuss the names for governor Sindh, mayor Karachi, and mayor Hyderabad.
