KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) took quick action against the defamatory content against Pakistani actress Kubra Khan. SHC has ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block the content that has sparked controversy against Kubra Khan and individuals of the Pakistan Army.
Earlier, a retired army officer and a UK-based YouTuber Adil Farooq Raja accused multiple actresses of Pakistan entertainment industry by connecting their names to high-profile individuals of Pakistan Army.
The decision came after Kubra Khan filed a petition against the derogatory content. Counsel for the petitioner stated that the act by the YouTuber is cognisable under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016. The counsel request SHC to issue directives to PTA and FIA to take action. The court then directed the organisations concerned to block the channels spreading defamatory content against the actress.
