RSS extremist ideology a hindrance to Indo-Pak negotiations, PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan once again categorically said that the key to resolving the longstanding Kashmir dispute between the two bitter neighbours – Pakistan and India – was to hold meaningful dialogues, but that it was not possible in the current environment given the prevalence of the RSS extremist mindset in India.

He was addressing the Islamabad Conclave 2021 here on Thursday. The prime minister attributed the Kashmir dispute to the lack of growth of the South Asian region, stating that the issue was “holding back” the region.

The prime minister said that it was impossible to engage in meaningful dialogue with India since the government was highly inspired by the extremist Hindutva mindset. He hoped that India would have, one day, a sane government with which negotiations could be held to address issues that have been prevalent for a long time.

Prime Minister Khan said that all the efforts for peace by his government were perceived as the government’s weakness, adding that those who believed that war held the key to resolving disputes were wrong.
