Riz Ahmed wins Oscar for critically-acclaimed performance in ‘The Long Goodbye’

One of the most-acclaimed British-Pakistani actors, Riz Ahmed, has won his first Oscar for the movie ‘The Long Goodbye’. Riz was also the co-writer of the movie. Last year, the actor was nominated for his work in ‘Sound of Metal’.

During his acceptance speech, the actor motivated all the immigrants. He said that the award belonged to everyone who felt deserted and hoped for a brighter future ahead. Riz started his career in 2006 with the movie ‘The Road to Guantanamo’ by Michael Winterbottom. He went to act in several critically-acclaimed films like ‘Shifty’, ‘Baghdad Express’, ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ and ‘Nightcrawler’.

Before becoming an Oscar winner, Riz had won the London Film Critics Award, British Independent Film Award, Primetime Emmy Award, National Board of Review Award, Independent Spirit Award.
