Rawalpindi-bound meets a tragic accident, 22 killed

RAWALPINDI: Twenty-two people, including women and children, were killed in a tragic accident after a Rawalpindi-bound bus fell into a ravine in district Sudhnoti of Azad & Jammu Kashmir on Wednesday.

According to the details shared by the witnesses and the police officials present on the scene, the bus took off from Tehsil headquarters Baloch before developing a technical fault shortly. According to the witness accounts, the bus first hit the mountain on the left, before it turned turned sideways and fell into a 500-metre deep ravine.

Eight people have survived the accident and have been transferred to the hospitals for treatment.

Twenty-one bodies have been found and identified whereas one injured person succumbed to his injuries in a hospital where he was being treated at.
