PTI clean bowls PML-N in Punjab; re-gains majority in Punjab Assembly

Lahore: The Punjab by-elections have changed the scenario of the Punjab Assembly as Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) has thrashed Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) by winning 15 seats across Punjab. The incumbent party, PML-N, only managed to win 04 seats. Only one independent candidate remained victorious. The 20 seats were vacated after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified 20 members of PTI who voted for Hamza Shehbaz for the Chief Minister Punjab post.
PML-N showed sportsmanship spirit and accepted their defeat. Maryam Nawaz, Vice President of PML-N, asked the party to wholeheartedly accept the result. She also urged the workers to accept the defeat with grace. Maryam added that the party would come back after working on weak areas.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan congratulated the workers on the historic win. Initially, he blamed the PML-N for using state machinery to rig the election and called out ECP for being biased. However, the overall results suggest otherwise. But Imran Khan refrained to accept the effort of the ECP and government for such unbiased and scandal-free elections.
