LAHORE: Pakistan’s veteran star allrounder Shahid Afridi has announced in a video message on Twitter that he would not be further participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League 2022. The announcement was made on the Quetta Gladiators’ official Twitter account.
Afridi’s withdrawal from the rest of the tournament means that he has effectively retired from the HBL PSL. However, he has announced that he would be back in action in different cricket leagues. Afridi has the distinctive honour of representing four PSL franchises in seven editions of the tournament.
He has played for Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. He has been a part of the two PSL Champions squad.
