GWADAR: The protest by the people here has entered its 17th day as people came out in large numbers, demanding several things of the authorities.
People have come from different parts of Balochistan to participate in the Gwadar Ko Huqooq Do Tehreek – a movement being headed by one of the local leaders of the Jamaat-i-Islami Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman. The protestors have said that their protest will only stop when their demands are met with by the authorities.
According to the Balochistan Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, the provincial government was already working to meet the demands of the protestors. Of the many things that have been highlighted by the protestors, they have also asked for provision of clean and safe drinking water.
