PESHAWAR: Armed assailants targetted a minority group here on Sunday by killing a priest and leaving the other wounded.
The priest Willian Siraj was killed near Ring Road. His body has been moved to the hospital for autopsy while further investigation is underway through CCTV footage and other evidence.
Meanwhile, the injured priest was discharged from the Lady Reading Hospital. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abbas Ahsan condemned the attack on the Christian community. He briefed that police had launched a comprehensive investigation against the attackers.
CCPO further added that the attack was terrorist activity. Religious minorities had been targetted in past, and police has caught the culprits. He said that police was conducting an investigation through geo-fencing and would soon identify the attackers.
