LAHORE: The political scenario of Pakistan has been rapidly changing as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) initialised talks to enter into seat adjustment ahead of the general elections scheduled on February 8 2024.
On Wednesday, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif met with PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. Nawaz visited the residency of Chaudhry Shujaat after a gap of 15 years.
News reports added that the meeting lasted for around 40 minutes during which the two sides discussed the possibility of forging an electoral alliance. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sanaullah, Ayaz Sadiq, and Azam Nazeer Tarar were also present at the meeting. From the PML-Q side, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Shafay Hussain were present in the meeting.
Possibly, both parties would form seat adjustments for two National Assembly positions and three Punjab Assembly constituencies. The seat adjustment would take place in the constituencies of PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema, Chaudhry Salik and Shafay Hussain. Note that an official statement was due to be issued.
