PM Shehbaz and 16 family members to leave on Thursday for Saudi Arabia visit

ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia along with his 16 family members. The government was heavily criticised for using state money to accommodate personal expenses. However, Information & Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb denied the news and said that family members would pay for the expenses from their pocket.

According to media reports, 40 people will accompany Shehbaz on a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia from April 28 to April 30. The Prime Minister’s Office issued a statement regarding the visit and termed it a milestone which would further strengthen the strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Muhammad Bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, invited the newly appointed prime minister for the visit.

Meanwhile, the coalition government has issued an ordinary passport to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The travel documents were issued here on April 23 under the ‘urgent category’.
