PM Shehbaz extends an olive branch to PTI for collaboration with Centre

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf to work and collaborate with the Centre, assuring them of extending the full support to their government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was speaking at the dinner reception held for the presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz said that the country could only move forward from the enormous challenges through a joint effort from all quarters concerned. He attributed the challenges to being greater than the Himalayas and called for the need to work collectively.

The reception was attended by the heads of all parties including PPP leaders Asif Ali Zardari, its chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, MQM-P chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, IPP president Aleem Khan, BAP President Khalid Magsi, Prof­essor Sajid Mir, and PML-Zia’s Ijazul Haq.

He further said that the he came to realise the full scale of the economic challenges after chairing a large number of economic meetings. He also touched on the subject of energy challenges being faced by the country, stating that the circular debt of gas and electricity had crossed the Rs5 trillion mark.

MQM-P THROWS WEIGHT BEHIND ASIF ALI ZARDARI

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan has announced that it would support the PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at the upcoming presidential elections on March 9. The MQM-P leader Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stated that the party would play its role to diversify democracy in Pakistan.
