PM Imran briefed about future plans ahead of tour to China

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan received a briefing regarding the meeting with China about future collaborations. Mr Khan will meet the Chinese leaders on February 3 on his tour to China. He will also attend the Winter Olympics inaugural ceremony in Beijing.

The briefing session was attended by Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, CPEC’s Special Assistant Khalid Mansoor, Adviser on National Security Dr Moeed Yousuf, Commerce Adviser Abdul Razak Dawood, Minister of Planning Asad Umar, Minister on Information Fawad Chaudhry, Minister Finance Shaukat Tarin, Minister of Energy Hammad Azhar, and Minister Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

According to the Prime Minister Office (PMO), the prime minister was updated on the plans regarding information technology, exports, trade, and investment with China. The pending payments of IPPs and security were also part of the discussion.

A separate meeting was also conducted between the prime minister and the chief of army staff. The PMO said that professional matters regarding Pak Army were discussed between Mr Khan and Gen Bajwa.
