In a media briefing on Thursday, IG Police Moazzam Jah Ansari unveiled important facts about the Police Lines mosque blast. According to Moazzam Jah, the suicide bomber was dressed in a police uniform and had covered his face with a mask & helmet. IG police added that the attacker asked the havaldar in Pashto, “Which side is the mosque?”
Moazzam Jah Ansari further said that the suicide bomber was given a target by someone as he did not even know about the location of the mosque. Moazaam added that the suicide bomber came on a police motorcycle which has been recovered. The chief of KP police admitted that there was a security lapse.
During the conference, IG Police got emotional and said that some people were spreading rumours about planting explosives, and some were calling it a drone attack. He appealed to the public to stop the conspiracy theories. Moazzam Jah Ansari said that police were working day and night, and many people were engaged in chalking this network and arresting those responsible.
