PDM gains 176 MNAs as MQM parts ways with PTI

ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) has decided to support Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) on the no-confidence motion. MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced the decision in a joint press conference with Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, leader Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chairperson Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

During the press conference, Khalid Maqbool said that MQM-P and joint opposition had developed working relations. He added that the agreement was signed keeping personal gains aside. Shehbaz extended congratulations to the joint opposition on reaching the agreement with MQM-P. He said that Karachi would benefit from the coalition.

The joint opposition now has 176 MNAs in its support. For the success of the no-confidence motion, the opposition requires 172 votes in its favour.
