Pakistan's Muhammad Asif clinched historic win against Stephen Hendry

Cheltenham: Professional Snooker player of Pakistan Muhammad Asif clinched a historic victory as he defeated the seven-time World Snooker Champion Stephen Hendry in the qualifying round of the British Open 2023.

The match started with Hendry having the upper hand as he pulled off a stunning break of 73. However, Muhammad Asif quickly reacted and went on to win the next three frames. In reply, Hendry attempted to make a comeback by winning the fifth frame by 74-43. The Pakistani cueist kept his calm and won the match-defining frame and eventually the match that would be counted as an upset for Stephen Hendry.

Despite playing the biggest break of 73 in the match, Hendry could not convert the efforts to a win. The highest break that Asif played was 66 (only the second 50-plus break in the contest). Asif won the match convincingly by a score of 4-2.
