ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed announced on Friday, while addressing a press conference, that the limited-over fixtures of the Pakistan-Australia series had been moved to Lahore. The games were originally scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi.
Rawalpindi is playing the role of the battlefield between the federal government and the opposition. The political temperature has been rising ever since the opposition filed the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Both parties are planning to stage massive rallies before the no-confidence voting takes place later this month. Rawalpindi was originally scheduled to host one Test, and the entire limited-over leg which comprises three ODIs and one T20I. It is not clear whether the dates of the games have been changed too.
