KARACHI: Supreme Court has ordered immediate demolition of the controversial Nasla Tower and Tejori Heights here on Wednesday.

Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon has been directed to raze the Nasla Tower and Tejori Heights to the ground and report back to the court today.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed chaired the three-judge bench which issued the orders. According to several media reports, Karachi Commissioner was grilled by CJP and warned that he could be sent to jail if he did not comply with the order.

It is pertinent to mention here that the pre-demolition work of Nasla Tower was stopped yesterday when Ferozabad Assistant Commissioner Asma Batool directed the Sindh Building Control Authority officials to halt the work as huge blocks fell on the road, threatening the safety of the passers-by.
