On the instructions of Director General KDA Syed Muhammad Ali Shah, an operation is underway to remove more than 500 shanties built on government land in Gulistan-e-Joahr Block A/1. The operation is initiated under the leadership of the Additional Director of Estate and Enforcement Jameel Baloch.
Local administration, police and rangers are present along with the KDA representatives to deal with any possible chaos. Additional Director of Estate and Enforcement Department Jameel Baloch said that an operation was underway on the complaints of the Karachi University administration about the presence of drug dealers and habitual criminals in the slums near University Road, Gulistan-e-Johar.
According to the orders of DG KDA, the operation will be continued until the area is cleared of all the encroachments.
