Omicron spreading quickly in Europe, new variant also growing in India

ACCORDING to epidemiologists, the Omicron variant will become a major problem for England in the upcoming weeks. The new variant is spreading quickly in the country, and after every three days, the rate is doubling.

The UK Health Minister Sajid Javid has said that the government would increase the number of hotel rooms for quarantine purposes. Omicron has also started to spread in India as the country has reported 23 cases so far, and in the last 24 hours, two more cases were reported from Mumbai.

On the other hand, France has imposed a ban on nightclubs to control the spread of Covid-19. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that blood plasma will not aid in curing the coronavirus as no proper progress was reported following this method.

Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has shared the last 24 hours numbers of Covid-19 in the country. The positivity ratio was recorded at 0.56 per cent during the last 24 hours as 232 people tested positive. Currently, 813 patients are in critical care while seven died due to the deadly virus.
