New monsoon system to enter in Sindh from July 14

According to the Met office, a strong monsoon system will enter Sindh from July 14, with persistent rains forecast till July 18. The new system will result in thunderstorms and heavy rain in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparker, and TM Khan.

Similar situation will remain in Tando Allayar, Sanghar, Nawabshah, Noushero Feroz, Khairpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Ghotki and Kashmore.

An alert of urban flooding has been issued in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur. The provincial government has asked all authorities concerned to remain on high alert and initiate the required measures.

So far, rain has caused havocs in Pakistan. According to the latest numbers, 27 people died in rain-related incidents.

Severe damage was caused to the infrastructure and standing crops. Power supply remained suspended in multiple areas. Many connecting roads were damaged or submerged in rainwater. As a result, remote areas were disconnected from cities.
