NEPRA increases per unit rate by Rs3.75 for KE consumers

NEPRA

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power and Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the per unit electricity charges for Karachi by Rs3.75.

According to a notification by NEPRA, the rates have been increased in lieu of the fuel adjustment charges for September. It further stated that additional charges would apply on the bill that consumers will receive in December.

The decision was made after the hearing of the K-Electric application in November, who had asked NEPRA for the adjustment of September fuel charges. The rates won’t be applied to the lifeline consumers – users who consume up to 100 units for 12 months including the running month, according to NEPRA.
