Nemrah Ahmed calls out drama-creators for promoting toxic hero trend

Famous Urdu writer Nemrah Ahmed lashed out at drama-makers for promoting toxic masculinity. She took to her Instagram handle and called out drama-creators for creating toxic male leads.

She wrote a famous drama tells the story of a wealthy playboy and an innocent middle-class girl who keeps getting harassed on the pretense of love. Nemrah added that Zahir Jaffar was a similar case where Noor Mukadam became the victim of a toxic male.

She called out dramas like Deewangi, Ishq Hai, Aye Musht-e-Khaak and a telefilm Ruposh for showing abusive behaviour towards women.

The writer of famous novels like Jannat ke Patay and Namal pointed out that instead of normalising abuse, the dramas should teach women to stand against it. She also added that abusive and toxic characters should be termed as villains and not heroes.
