Nasla Tower resident dies due to depression

KARACHI: On Friday, a former resident of Nasla tower died after battling ‘sheer depression’. The resident was identified as Shamim Usman, aged 65 years.

According to the Association of Builders and Developers (Abad), Shamim, who was a retired PIA employee, suffered from depression after the Nasla Tower was ordered to be evacuated. She was unable to bear the emotional pressure of leaving her house in the building.

Nasla Tower was ordered to be demolished after the Supreme Court orders. The court termed the construction as illegal as it encroached upon the road which was supposed to be a service pathway.
