Narcotics Control and Excise Department arrests drug smuggler from Peshawar

The Narcotics Control and Excise Department arrested a man for attempting to smuggle drugs from Peshawar. The accused had 57 capsules inside his body that were filled with ice. He was arrested along with his wife, mother and three children. The whole family was about to leave for Umrah. An official of the Excise department said that the alleged smuggler was arrested on confirm information before he could leave for Saudi Arabia.

The arrested smuggler was taken to Lady Reading Hospital where the drugs were recovered. The Narcotics Control and Excise Department told that the accused confessed to smuggling drugs to Saudi Arabia seven times before getting caught. Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khaleeq-Ur-Rehman appreciated the efforts of the authorities concerned. He added that such incidents bring defame to the country and strict action has to be taken against smugglers.
