Multan, 15 February 2023: After losing the first match against Lahore by just one run, Multan Sultans delivered a strong performance against Quetta Gladiators and won the third match of HBL PSL 8 by nine wickets in a one-sided contest at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Ihsanullah laid the foundation of Multan’s victory with incredible figures of 12/5 in his four overs. The 20-year-old right-arm fast showcased a quick pace and maintained good length.

Quetta Gladiators lost quick wickets from the start of the match when Martin Guptill and Abdul departed within the fifth over. Soon after Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed got out in the sixth over. Ihsanullah took back-to-back wickets by bowling out Jason Roy and Iftikhar Ahmed. No batter from Quetta Gladiators showed resilience and managed to score 110 runs.

Multan had an easy run chase as they achieved the target within 13.3 over. Rilee Rossouw played an aggressive innings and smacked Thushara for four back-to-back boundaries. Rossouw scored his eighth HBL PSL half-century and finished with 78 not out of 42. Captain Mohammad Rizwan remained not out by scoring 28 off 34 in the 108-run undefeated partnership. Multan Sultans now has an impressive record against Lahore as this is their sixth win over Quetta Gladiators in 10 matches.

Multan had a tough competition against Lahore and was unable to translate their quality batting into a win due to excellent dead-over bowling from Lahore Qalandars. With this win, Multan has now gained their first points in the HBL PSL 8 points table.
