KARACHI: The surge in prices of edible items continues as the Karachi Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association has raised the per litre price of milk by Rs20. After the increment, the new prices are Rs200 per litre.
Till now, the city and provincial administration have not uttered a single word on the sudden hike in milk prices.
The officials of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association said that they had to increase the prices because the transportation cost of milk and dairy farm products had jumped up.
They added that prices of medicine, gas, electricity, fodder and other required items were also surging which made it hard to deliver milk at low rates.
