Meteorological Department forecasts rain and dusty winds tonight in Karachi

According to the Meteorological Department, the westerly winds will enter the city of Quaid by tonight resulting in rain in different areas. The department added that following the previous system, there is a strong chance of hail in certain parts of Karachi. 

The meteorological department added that In the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 18 degrees Celsius. The humidity in air remained at 70 per cent.

Regarding the rain forecast on March 21, 2023, the Met Office said that winds are blowing from the northeast and may change its direction to the southwest in the evening. The weather department has requested all institutions to remain on alert during rainy hours.

Meteorological Department said that during the morning hours of March 21, the weather in Karachi remained partly cloudy, but dusty winds would blow in most parts of the city till night. The report added that till March 23, westerly winds may bring clouds once.

From March 21 to 23, scattered rain and thunderstorms are expected in Karachi, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Larkana, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas and Dadu. 

Similarly, a thunderstorm has been predicted in different cities of Balochistan from March 21 to March 24. Quetta, Jaffarabad, Dera Bugti, Zhob, Ziarat, Khuzdar, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Barkhan, Qillah Abdullah, Harnai, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Saifullah, Dalbandin, Nokkundi, Panjgur, Kalat, Gwadar, Lasbella and Makran coast are among the cities that would experience thunderstorms with isolated heavy rain.

Different areas of Karachi, like Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, Rashid Minhas Road and Malir, experienced rain and gusty winds that originated from the northeast at 32 kilometres per hour. 

At that time, the Met Office predicted that strong westerly wave would enter Pakistan on Tuesday and prevail till Wednesday. A hail storm was also witnessed in different areas of Karachi.
