Meta vs Twitter verbal war turns into legal battle; X Corporation sends legal notice on launch of Threads app

The verbal battle between Metta and Twitter has formed into a formal legal battle. The parent company of Twitter, X Corporation, has initiated formal legal proceedings over the launch of the Threads app.

According to X Corporation, Meta used dozens of former Twitter employees for the Threads project and urged them to provide information about Twitter and use the intellectual property document in Threads app development.

In its demand, X Corporation has asked Meta to immediately stop the use of information related to their intellectual property and also withdraw from using the most confidential information.

In its statement, Twitter reiterated that legal action will be taken in case of non-compliance.

Metta has dismissed all the allegations as baseless and said that no Twitter official was working for the company.

Elon Musk alleged that Meta not only recruited ex-Twitter employees but also used the company’s technical secrets to create the Threads app. In a tweet, Elon Musk called Threads a ‘copy-paste’ version of his platform.

Note that within a few days, the users of the Threads app have crossed 100 million. It became the platform quickest to 100 million users beating AI tool ChatGPT and TikTok.
