Maryam Nawaz tests positive for Covid-19

LAHORE: Vice-President of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has been diagnosed with Covid-19. She went through the test after addressing huge public gatherings ahead of Punjab by-polls.

She tested positive for the virus and announced her medical condition on the Twitter handle.

Prime Minister Pakistan and uncle of Maryam Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, prayed for her steady recovery and conveyed his best wishes through a tweet. Previously, Maryam had tested positive for Covid-19 in July 2021.

In the last 24 hours, 737 new patients have been reported while 10 people died. The positivity rate stood at 3.3 per cent. Health authorities have urged the public to follow Covid-19 SOPs to avoid the sixth wave of the virus.
