Maryam Nawaz hints at government’s exit plan

SARGODHA: Addressing a large public rally here on Thursday, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Vice-President Maryam Nawaz hinted at the government’s exit strategy, stating that the PML-N supremo would rather quit than burden people with more inflation.

She accused the previous government led by Imran Khan for the poor economic situation. She said that Nawaz Sharif would never bow before the IMF, he would rather quit the government. Maryam asked a charged crowd whether it would help bring the PML-N back in power with two-thirds majority.

She criticised Khan’s decision of inviting the families of the Army personnel to his march, stating that he was doing so so he could bash the Army chief in front of them.

Meanwhile, the federal government has been under tremendous pressure with Pakistan’s economy dwindling and spiralling out of control owing to the government’s indecision on tough economic measures. The PML-N leadership fears that it would have to bear the brunt if it opted to remove the fuel subsidies.
