LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted protective bail to Zaheer Ahmed, husband of Dua Zehra. Earlier, Dua’s parents had approached Sindh High Court and requested to arrest Zaheer over under-marriage charges.
Justice Alia Neelum heard the proceedings and asked the reason for protective bail. The lawyer said that a re-investigation was announced, and it’s anticipated that police would arrest Zaheer. LHC provided the bail that halts Zaheer’s arrest until July 14.
Earlier, the video of Zaheer’s and Dua’s nikkah circulated on social media platforms. An unidentified person officiated the nikkah. Surprisingly, the authorities have not traced the ‘unidentified person’ who officiated the marriage of an underage girl.
