KARACHI: The preparations for the first phase of the local government (LG) elections have started in Sindh as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will start receiving the nomination papers from tomorrow onwards (May 10, 2022).
According to the details, the returning officers (RO) will receive the names from May 10 till May 13 and announce the final list of candidates by May 14.
The scrutiny process will commence from May 16 till May 18. Any appeal against the ruling of RO can be made by May 21, while the decisions will be announced by May 25. The candidates will be issued the election symbols on May 28.
In the first phase, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad and Larkana will be the venue for the LG bouts, beginning from June 26. On June 30, the final results will be announced.
