Less than 10 Covid deaths reported in Pakistan for first time in over 30 days

ISLAMABAD: After more than a month, Pakistan’s Covid death toll in a single day has dropped to single digits. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported five deaths during the last 24 hours. On January 23, eight deaths were reported in a single day.

NCOC also tweeted the latest Covid-19 stats of the country. In the last 24 hours, 33,357 people were tested resulting in 856 positive cases. The positivity rate stood at 2.56 per cent.

Sindh reported 452 cases, Punjab 262 cases, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had 68 Covid-19 positive cases. Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir collectively reported 74 cases. Currently, 1,052 patients are under critical care.
