Israeli bombing on Gaza, three senior commanders of Islamic Jihad Movement killed

The early Tuesday morning of May 9 brought tragedy and misery for the people of Palestine as Israeli planes bombarded Gaza, killing 12 Palestinian civilians and wounding 20. The demise souls also included three senior Islamic Jihad Movement commanders. The foreign media reported that the Israeli army has claimed to kill members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the air strike on Gaza.

According to foreign media reports, Israeli forces targeted residential apartments in Gaza City, Rafah and Khan Yunis on Tuesday morning. The attacks martyred at least 12 Palestinians. The martyrs included Commander of Al-Quds Brigade Khalil Bahitini, Spokesperson of Islamic Jihad Movement Tareq Ezzaldin, and Secretary of Military Council Jihad Ghanim. Khalil Behitini was said to be involved in rocket attacks on Israel.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in its statement that the injured had been transferred to the hospital after the bombing of Gaza by the Israeli army.

Emergency Imposed in South Israel

Meanwhile, after the airstrikes, the Israeli Defense Minister declared a state of emergency in southern Israel and closed the Gaza border connected to Israel. Israel has directed the citizens residing in the Southern region to stay in bomb shelters. 

Aimed threat of retaliation from Hamas, the authorities also announced the closure of schools today. Note that last week, more than a hundred rockets were fired at Israel after the death of senior leader of Islamic Jihad Movement, Qadir Adnan, who died due to a hunger strike in the Israeli prison. Adnan carried the hunger strike for 80 days.
