Islamabad court turns down police request for extension in Gill’s physical remand

ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the Islamabad district and session court rejected the petition for a seven-day extension in the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) leader Shabaz Gill. The court sent him to prison on a judicial remand under the case of sedition.

The petition for extension in remand was submitted by the police to Judicial Magistrate Malik Aman. The two-day physical remand of Gill ended today. Gill was brought to the cardiac centre of PIMS hospital for his medical examination, after which he was presented in court.

After the hearing, Faisal Chaudhry, lawyer of Gill, said that the legal team would file for bail as the case against his client was based on false information. He further added that remarks stated in the first-information report against Gill were not made on the ARY News show.
