ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the presidential reference for Article 63 (A) interpretation has been approved by President Dr Arif Alvi. The reference would be submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
After the presidential approval, the draft also got the nod by the federal cabinet for the interpretation of Article 63 (A) to seek clarity about the status of dissident lawmakers after they are de-seated or disqualified for lifetime by the party. It would also ask the supreme court if these lawmakers could be regarded as honest & righteous once dethroned. Further, the opinion on implementing Article 62 (1) would also be asked from the court.
The finalisation of the draft for reference was also confirmed by the Attorney-General of Pakistan, Khalid Jawed Khan.
