Instagram has accelerated its effort to create a new option for the short-video format ‘Instagram Reels’ that would ease the editing for video content-makers.
It is pertinent to mention that Reels was started to compete with arch-rival TikTok. The new feature also gives similar benefits as offered by TikTok’s existing template option.
According to sources, Instagram Reels will soon have a feature consisting of templates which can be used to edit and synchronise the video with music. A spokesperson from Meta said that the new option was under testing.
A user tested the feature and tweeted the results, stating that in the new template option users can replace their clips with an existing video and the reel will sync the timing.
