The Hindu Temple incident in Indore, India resulted in the death of 35 people. On Thursday, the floor of the temple collapsed when dozens of worshipers gathered for Ram Navami (birth celebration of Lord Ram). The floor was based on a water well and could not sustain the weight of people present for religious festivities. By Friday, the total death toll soared to 35 while one person remained missing.

The District Magistrate of Indore, Ilayaraja, said the rescue operation was in process. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, posted his condolences on the incident on Twitter. He added that the state government was spearheading rescue operations at a quick pace.
