Imran wary of Pervaiz Elahi’s reluctance to take confidence vote

LAHORE: The relationship between the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) is turning sour as the former prime minister Imran Khan has urged his party members to convince the chief minister of Punjab to take the vote of confidence.

According to several media reports, for the first time in years, Khan has expressed his public distrust of Pervaiz Elahi, saying that he could not let the latter’s alleged corruption accusations and charges hurt his [Imran’s] popularity. Meanwhile, the CM Punjab paid a visit shortly to the PTI chief at his residence following the latter’s public disapproval.

According to the son of Pervaiz Elahi, Moonis Elahi, the relationship between the two could not be more stronger after the meeting. Moonis said that Pervaiz had assured Khan of his all-out support.
