Pro-Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf journalist and renowned TV personality Imran Riaz Khan was arrested in Islamabad on Tuesday, revealed his counsel. According to media reports, Khan was on his way to the federal capital when the law officials apprehended him.
According to several media reports, Khan has been arrested on charges of treason. His counsel clarified that Khan was nominated in 17 cases pertaining to treason all across the largest province of Pakistan – Punjab.
The PTI leadership was quick to react to the arrest and expressed its disappointment on Twitter.
